Discontented Ravi Gaikwad supporters denied permission to meet Uddhav Thackeray

The Shiv Sena MP, Ravi Gaikwad could not take the denial of the ticket to contest the Lok Sabha election. Resultantly, Gaikwad and his supporters took to streets and started marching towards Matoshree on Saturday night to meet Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
Before they could reach Thackeray’s residence, police arrested Gaikwad and some of his supporters in Dadar, near Vashi toll plaza and others in Osmanabad on Sunday.
Police received a tip-off that agitated supporters of Gaikwad were on way to Matoshree to meet Thackeray, to show displeasure on replacing Gaikwad with Sena candidate Om Raje Nimbalkar for the Osmanabad seat. Accordingly, police detained a few supporters near Tuljapur at 1am and by serving them notice to maintain peace. However, a few others took their personal vehicles to head towards Matoshree.
