Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and the party’s candidate for Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat N. Uttam Kumar Reddy charged Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao with lowering the ‘stature of Member of Parliament’ by nominating “land grabbers and others”.
“Will an invalid note (chellani rupayi) in Munugode turn legal tender in Nalgonda?” he said referring to Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate Vemireddy Narsimha Reddy, who had contested the mandal praja parishad elections in 1987 and lost. “The way the TRS selected its candidates is an insult to the people,” he remarked.
