The political situation in Tirupati Parliamentary constituency is going to be interesting with both ruling and opposition parties contemplating to field new faces this time. Sitting YSRCP MP from Tirupati V Varaprasada Rao resigned along with other MPs of his party in protest against Centre's attitude in giving Special Category Status to AP. Sources say he was denied ticket this time and the party high command is asking him to contest from either Gudur or Satyavedu Assembly constituencies for which he was reportedly reluctant.
The party is said to be considering the names of former Gudur MLA B Durgaprasada Rao and industrialist Madhusudan Rao who joined recently in the party. But no decision has been taken yet.
