Ex-Congress MP Priya Dutt confirms she will contest 2019 Lok Sabha elections

Former Congress MP Priya Dutt is going to contest 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Earlier Priya was not ready to contest, as she wanted to focus on her family more. She even wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi about her decision for not contesting general elections. It is said that Congress chief has asked her to rethink about her decision.
“I am in the race. I am fighting this election. I am fighting for the future of my children. It is a fight to save our democracy,” Priya Dutt was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Priya was elected MP for two terms from North Bombay seat after her father late Sunil Dutt passed away. However in 2014 she lost to Poonam Mahajan of the BJP.
