The State election authorities are obviously concerned over the shortage of the security personnel likely to be faced during the forthcoming elections to the Lok Sabha, exactly a month away, and have intensified efforts to secure adequate personnel for poll duties.
In addition to the close to 39,000 State police personnel in different cadres and 16 companies of Telangana State special police, the State could secure deployment of around 19,000 personnel drawn from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and other States during the recent Assembly elections. But questions are being raised about the availability of the personnel from other States as they too are gearing up for the general elections.
