Speaker of Legislative Assembly Pramod Sawant has said that social work is the base of politics and, therefore, one must be a good social worker before entering the politics.
“A leader takes the community forward, and strives to become a good leader,” Sawant said, during the inaugural function of Students’ Parliament Competition, 2019, held at PAC room, Assembly Complex, Porvorim, recently.
The competition is an annual event held by the Goa Legislature Secretariat since 1990. Speaking further, Sawant said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi says one must always believe in ‘antyodaya’, that is, helping the needy and poor.
“Students’ Parliament Competition creates leaders for tomorrow, and students must make the best use of this platform to open up about problems and issues faced by them and the people in the state in general. Imbibe conviction and consistency in yourself to be a good leader,” he said, urging the students.
