Starting with secretariat, all public buildings in Odisha may soon be powered by solar energy

In a welcome move, the state government in Odisha has developed a plan to make one of the state's biggest public buildings energy efficient. If things go as planned, the Odisha secretariat will soon be running solely on solar power and other public buildings in the state will likely follow suit.
The decision to plan for this move was discussed at a high-level meeting of the science and technology department held recently, reported Times of India. During the meeting which was chaired by chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, top officials mulled over steps to make the secretariat an energy-efficient building before implementing the same in other public buildings in Odisha.
