Rescued Nepalese trafficking victims to be sent home, says Maneka

Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi on Thursday said that the 147 girls and 32 boys from Nepal who were recently rescued in Manipur will be sent back to their country. The Minister tweeted that the External Affairs Ministry has given permission to safely repatriate the rescued victims of trafficking to Nepal.
In her official Twitter handle, Maneka Gandhi wrote:
‘The identity of all the trafficked children has been verified by the authorities in Imphal, in collaboration with Nepal Government officials. The trafficked children will shortly be sent back to Nepal and reunited with their families. We are ensuring their rehabilitation.
It is a matter of deep concern that young boys & girls from Nepal are being trafficked to the middle east. 147 young girls along with 32 boys from Nepal were recently intercepted in Imphal. They were allegedly being sent illegally to Dubai via Myanmar.’
