Call for platform of Left forces

Communist Party of India general secretary Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday called for a broad platform of Left, democratic, and secular forces at the national level to fight back the “fascist offensive” of the BJP government. He accused the Congress of playing second fiddle to the Bharatiya Janata Party in Kerala.
Inaugurating the south zone Kerala Samrakshana Yatra led by CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Mr. Reddy said Narendra Modi and the BJP were using the Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate to hound political opponents because they lacked the guts to fight them politically. “Opposition leaders, Chief Ministers and Ministers are being hunted. Intellectuals also are being hunted,” he said. The Modi regime was neck-deep in graft and the Rafale aircraft deal was only the latest instance of it, he said.
