Launching a strong attack against the BJP-led NDA government in Parliament on Monday, AIADMK leader and Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha M. Thambi Durai accused the Centre of having presented an interim Budget that resembled an election manifesto.
“This interim Budget looks like an election manifesto, and if the government was sincere, it would have announced various measures last year itself. The interim Budget is a missed opportunity,” Mr. Thambi Durai said.
He accused the Centre of having failed to address the unemployment problem and also attacked it over demonetisation and the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The Central government is yet to release more than ₹10,000 crore in arrears to Tamil Nadu.
