Peace necessary for development: Farooq Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday asserted that socio–economic emancipation of the people forms the core of the party agenda saying that the NC will carry forward the legacy of service once in power.
Addressing a meet of party functionaries and north Kashmir constituency in-charges at his Gupkar residence in Srinagar, Farooq said, “Peace is not out of equation when it comes to development. Peace is very imperative for development.”
Exuding confidence into the workers, the party president said, “Peace is the necessary prerequisite for any sort of development to take place, and National Conference once in power will work towards establishing an atmosphere of peace, reconciliation and sustainable development with the active participation of people.”
