‘Will Kumaraswamy present the budget?’ BJP continues speculation

Leaders of the Opposition BJP have continued to speculate on the future of the coalition government in the State by expressing doubts over Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy presenting the budget as scheduled on February 8.
While addressing BJP workers in the city on Sunday, Union Minister and Bengaluru North MP D.V. Sadananda Gowda said the Chief Minister being able to present the budget this time was doubtful.
“Dissidence within the Congress over support to the Janata Dal (Secular) has peaked. Many Congress MLAs have gone missing and the party has not been able to contact them. Soldiers within their own fort are doing ‘operation’,” he said.
Expressing anger over delay in the arrest of Kampli MLA J.N. Ganesh, who is accused of assaulting fellow MLA B.S. Anand Singh at a resort, he alleged that governance had collapsed in the State and “the BJP would take a suitable decision in the interest of the State and form an alternative government in the event of the coalition government losing majority.”
