Mizoram to introduce inter-state bus service

Mizoram State Transport Minister TJ Lalnuntluanga has announced that the state government would soon launch inter-state transport services to neighbouring states and Myanmar.
The Minister further informed that government is on a massive effort to launch bus services between Aizawl and Churachandpur in Manipur and Tahan in Chin state of Myanmar where the Mizo population live. “Mizoram has inter-state bus service with only neighbouring state of Assam and therefore we are launching the bus service to Aizawl and Manipur for the convenience of the public,” Lalnuntluanga said.
He further said that Mizoram state Transport service is currently not functioning due to some reasons and now the efforts are being taken under the leadership of the Manipur Chief Minister Zoramthanga to improve the system. “New buses will be purchased and replace old ones to increase the transport services and to create new routes. Assistance would sought from the centre besides state resources to execute the project,” Lalnuntluanga said.
He further reiterated that the state government is also taking massive efforts to establish inland transport system besides improving road transport so that people can commute through public transport without having much problems and will ease the communication.
