Investigators clueless on identity of bank thieves

Investigating teams probing the burglary at the Punjab National Bank’s Bikshandarkoil branch in Tiruchi are yet to get hold of vital clues to zero in on the accused.
Multiple teams constituted for cracking the case have been vigorously pursuing various angles as part of the investigation.
Each special team has been mandated with specific tasks and senior police officers, adept in scientific method of investigations, have also been roped in. Detailed briefings have been given to the teams which are also listing previous offenders involved in similar crimes beyond Tiruchi district as well. Going by the precision of the operation, the investigation teams suspect the hand of a seasoned gang. A senior police officer said that instructions had been given to the teams to track previous offenders, who are now out of prison. Their likely involvement in the burglary was high, police sources said. The burglars were well aware of the topography and the escape route. They were also aware that there was no surveillance camera on the Chennai by-pass road. After carrying out inspection of the crime scene, police officers pointed out that the rear side of the bank was bushy with trees and scrubs.
