BJP: CM’s statement proves internal bickering in coalition

The Opposition BJP on Monday said that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy threatening to step down was a proof that crisis in the government was internal and the BJP was being falsely blamed.
“The Chief Minister’s statement exposes internal bickering in the coalition partners. His threat to quit on one hand exposes that all is not well in the government, and on the other, is a ‘blackmail tactics’ adopted by the Chief Minister to keep the State Congress leaders under control through Rahul Gandhi,” said Leader of the Opposition and BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa.
“It also proves that allegation of Operation Lotus is a bogus claim by the Chief Minister and Congress leaders to divert people’s attention from the government’s failures,” he said.
Referring to the statements of some Ministers favouring Siddaramaiah to the post of the Chief Minister, Mr. Shettar said it was strange that some Congress leaders were issuing such statements though the Assembly elections were four years away. Those issuing such statements should clarify whether they were planning to dislodge Mr. Kumaraswamy from the post to make Mr. Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister, Mr. Shettar said.
